All of our curricula is based on Principles of Unitarian Universalism.
For our children, they have been worded simply.
We
believe ...
-- That
each and every person is important.
-- That all people should be treated fairly and kindly.
-- That we should accept one another and keep on learning together.
-- That each person should have a vote about the things that concern them.
-- In working for a peaceful, fair and free world.
-- In caring for our planet earth, the home we share with all living things.
With
Our Children We Intend:
-- To
explore questions and ideas about the mysteries of existence and delve
into moral issues of life.
-- To share our understanding of our Unitarian Universalist principles
as well as the history, celebrations and wisdom of other world religions.
-- To nourish a sense of belonging together with family, friends, church
and the world and to honour their uniqueness within this community.
-- To stimulate a sense of wonder and worship as they experience and explore
the nature of religious and spiritual community.
How
Can You Help Make It Work?
-- Take an active
interest in your child's program by encouraging regular attendance.
-- Discuss the program with your children, the teachers, and the director
of religious education.
-- Provide experiences during the week which will
further the ideas and ideals the children share in the program.
-- Pledge
and contribute to the church to support the religious education component.
-- Get involved in the religious education committee with other parents.
Work actively in the program.
